The Shoalhaven River defines the eastern boundary of this district. The river and the surrounding environs bristle with history. Phillip Leighton-Daly will give a talk about the natural history of the river along with its associated tourist and recreational activities. The Indigenous and Chinese people, convicts, run-a-ways, copper, gold and limestone miners, cedar cutters, illicit spirit dealers and bush rangers are included. River tragedies, small schools, ghost towns and Depression Villages also contribute to a most intriguing presentation.
